Tailor Made Holidays to Jordan
As well as the escorted group tours, we often tailor make a holiday package to Jordan. These still include all the transfers between hotels, and a car and driver for the touring part of your holiday until you reach the Dead Sea. The advantages are:
- Travel on any date
- You can choose a different hotel if you wish
- Stay as long or as short as you like in each place
- More flexibility when in Jordan - for example if you want to stay longer in one place then there is no-one else to worry about.
In fact, most of our tailor made holidays to Jordan look quite similar to the group tour, with 2 nights in Amman, 3 nights in Petra and 2 or more nights at the Dead Sea. So you could just stick with that itinerary, and stay in Marriott Hotels as on the group tour, but let's look at what you might change now you've got the chance.
3 places you should consider
 One option is to spend a night in Wadi Rum, camping in the desert. It gets cold at night in our winter, so this option is not really feasible from November to March, but at any other time it entails a great experience. You'll have a 4x4 desert tour, before heading to your camp for the night and watching the amazing colours of the sunset.
The next option is to stay in Aqaba before continuing to the Dead Sea. Aqaba is a quality diving resort, much busier than the Dead Sea with many hotels, shops, restaurants, cafes and activities, especially water sports. We have had customers book a week here, to allow time for a few dives, but of course you can stay as long or as short as you wish. As well as diving, there is windsurfing, snorkelling, sailing, jet skiing and water skiing available.
The next option is a night in the Dana Nature Reserve which is an area of beautiful scenery and good for walking and hiking. For example, there is a 15km hike along the Wadi Dana trail.
Stay in Luxury Accommodation
 There is of course a choice of hotels in Jordan, and these include luxury hotels such as the Four Seasons in Amman, which is set on top of one of Amman's 7 hills with spectacular views over the city.
In Petra, I would recommend the Movenpick Petra as the luxury option, not least because of its unbeatable location right by the entrance to Petra. At the Dead Sea, there is a relatively new hotel called the Kempinski Dead Sea Ishtar, which is next to the Marriott and Movenpick hotels.
However, for something special, why not book a few nights at the Evason Ma'In Hot Springs and Six Senses Spa which is near Madaba. It is actually 264 metres below sea level, and is surrounded not just by the wonderful mountain scenery but also by hot springs.

Day 1 – To Amman: Fly from London to Amman with Royal Jordanian Airlines. Transfer to the Four Seasons Hotel (Superior room) for 2 nights.
Day 2 – Amman: Today is at leisure or you can pre-book a guided tour to Jerash or a walking tour of Amman. (Breakfast)
Day 3 – To Petra: Travel along the King’s Way, visiting Madaba, home to a Byzantine mosaic map of the region, and Mount Nebo, where Moses first viewed the Holy Land. Continue to Petra via the crusader castles of Kerak. Stay 2 nights at the Mövenpick Resort, Petra. (Junior suite). (Breakfast)
Day 4 – Petra: Guided tour of the spectacular ancient city of Petra. (Breakfast)
Day 5 – To Ma’In: Morning drive to Wadi Rum for a 4x4 excursion into the desert. In the afternoon, transfer to Ma’In and stay for 2 nights at the Evason Ma’In Hot Springs (Breakfast)
Day 6 – Ma’In: Day at leisure or take a treatment at the Six Senses Spa. (Breakfast)
Day 7 – To London: Morning transfer to the airport. Fly from Amman to London with Royal Jordanian Airlines. (Breakfast)
